Nokia 5 is an entry-level smartphone launched exclusively for the offline market.
HMD Global had promised that the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 will go on sale in India starting mid-August. Now, right on cue, reports suggest that the smartphone will go on sale via offline channels starting August 15. Offline pre-booking for the mid-range smartphone had already begun from July 7 onwards. The smartphone is priced at Rs 12,899 and is said to be available only in select cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Pune.
According to the nokiapoweruser, the smartphone will be available via offline retailers like Sangeetha Mobiles, Poorvika, Big C(Hyderabad) and Croma to name a few. The smartphone features a unibody metal design and will be available in tempered blue, silver, matte black, and copper color variants. To put things into perspective, the Nokia 5 sits between the Nokia 3 and Nokia 6 in terms of pricing as well as features. The Nokia 3 and Nokia 6 is priced at Rs 9,499 and Rs 14,999 respectively.
Nokia 6, on the other hand, will be available exclusively via Amazon India starting August 23. The smartphone is only available via the e-commerce site. However, to be a part of August 23 sale, one has to head to Amazon India and register. Registration for the first sale is a must. Nokia 3 is the cheapest of the trio, and has been available at retail stores and online stores as well.

On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera along with an 8-megapixel front camera. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a 3,000mAh battery. The phone uses a USB Type-C port for charging. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. On the software front, the Nokia 5 runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box.
