The Google Pixel XL 2 render shows the smartphone with extremely slim bezels.
Call it Google Pixel XL 2 or Google Pixel 2 XL, the upcoming Google flagship smartphone is all set to take on Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Apple iPhone 8 later this year. And though its competitors have already been revealed in multiple leaks and images, the Google Pixel XL 2 has seen leaks few and far between. The latest concept video showcases the upcoming Google smartphone and the design definitely looks extremely classy and different. One major drawback for Google Pixel series was the design, and if this video is anything to go by, then Google could be looking at fixing it.
Just last week, we saw the Google Pixel XL 2 design leak in black, and then the smartphone emerged in silver and black. The latest concept render shared over YouTube by Concept Creator retains some similarities to the previously leaked renders. However, it shows a 360-degree image of the Pixel XL 2, and interestingly shows the smartphone in not just black, blue, and silver, but also colors like red and a teal blue. There are also dual-color options, with a black glass back on the top and a red bottom. The concept images make the Google Pixel XL 2 look extremely interesting.
Even in this video, the Google Pixel XL 2 retains the dreaded semi-glass back whereas the body is made of metal. The glass back has considerably shrunk in size though, and it now looks appealing, giving an edge to the smartphone. The fingerprint sensor is no more enclosed in the glass back but rather outside it. On the top, the camera and the flash module retain their positions but the sensors have shifted to right beneath the flash instead of next to the camera lens. Unfortunately, there is no dual rear camera setup on the smartphone. The smartphone is expected to come with a 12-megapixel super motion sensor, suggests the video. On the front, the smartphone flaunts a large display with a greater screen-to-body ratio. The side bezels are not eliminated but slimmed down, a welcome change from the current Pixel series. The top and bottom bezels too are slimmer. The display looks fitted with the 2.5D glass. It would be interesting to see if Google decides to go ahead with a curved display on the Pixel 2 series, as competitors Samsung and Apple are expected to do with Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone 8. The design definitely makes the Pixel 2 series devices a lot more appealing and interesting.
Currently, the only given with the upcoming Google Pixel 2 series smartphones is that they will debut with Android O. While initially, it was believed that Google would announce three smartphones under Pixel nicknamed — Walleye, Taimen, and Muskie; newer reports suggest that Muskie has been dropped and Google will stick to just Walleye and Taimen. Of the two, Taimen is the larger, or the Google Pixel XL 2. The smartphones are expected to be announced in the coming months and as we near the launch, it is time to brace for more and more leaks in the coming days.
